PhotonX2 Milling Machine LED Spindle Light
The PhotonX2 is a spindle light ring specifically designed to solve the lighting issues of the Sieg X2 milling machine.
This all new version of the PhotonX2 is bigger and brighter than the previous generations to ensure you have the light you need while making chips. The LED is an 80mm LED ring producing long lasting, extremely uniform, bright white light (the LEDs are rated for 20,000 hours of useful life). The illuminance of the PhotonX2 is 6,640lux when using an end mill in a collet. This is the equivalent lighting of a precision assembly area in a missile production facility! If there are cases where you don’t need as much light, the light output of the PhotonX2 is controlled by a variable On-Off inline switch. Optionally, you can upgrade to a RF remote control* and control the lighting on your mill remotely! With this option, you have the freedom of mounting the cable however you like and not have to worry about being able to reach the controls. The housing body is made from plastic, comes in a hammered black finish and is held to the milling head with three high quality Neodymium magnets. Power for the LEDs is provided by the included 12 volt, 500mA (6W) AC power adapter.
The PhotonX2 comes fully assembled and includes everything you need right in the box. To install: first, attach the ring light to the underside of the milling head and lower the head to your lowest milling height. Next, plug the control switch into the cable coming from the housing. Run the cable along the column however you like and use the included mounts and zip ties to secure the cable to the mill (ensure you have enough length to move the head through its range of motion). Lastly, plug in the power supply and you are ready to go. Installation is done in less than 5 minutes.
While the PhotonX2 was designed specifically for the Sieg X2 machines, it will also fit full size mills such as Bridgeport and the Bridgeport clones (Millport, Enco, Toolmaster, Sharp, etc). As long as your spindle is less than 2.25” in diameter and you have a magnetic surface to mount to, it will fit.
