PhotonX3 Milling Machine LED Spindle Light
The PhotonX3 is a spindle light ring specifically designed to solve the lighting issues of the Sieg X3 and other larger quill/spindle milling machines. While the PhotonX3 was designed specifically for the Sieg X3/X4 family of milling machines (X3, SX3, X4) and larger quill mills, it will fit a wide range of mills such as the Grizzly G0704, PM-25 and all BF-20 derived mills. As long as your quill is less than 3.10” in diameter, it will fit.
This all new PhotonX3 is the biggest and brightest light we offer to ensure you have the light you need while making chips. The LED is a 100mm LED ring producing long lasting, extremely uniform, bright white light (the LEDs are rated for 20,000 hours of useful life). The illuminance of the PhotonX3 is 7,000lux when using an end mill in a collet. This is the equivalent lighting of a precision assembly area in a missile production facility! If there are cases where you don’t need as much light, the light output of the PhotonX3 is controlled by a variable On-Off inline switch. Optionally, you can upgrade to a RF remote control* and control the lighting on your mill remotely! With this option, you have the freedom of mounting the cable however you like and not have to worry about being able to reach the controls. The housing body is made from plastic, comes in a hammered black finish and is held to the quill using three non-marring set screws. Power for the LEDs is provided by the included 12 volt, 500mA (6W) AC power adapter.
The PhotonX3 comes fully assembled and includes everything you need right in the box. To install: first, test fit the light ring to your quill. Adjust the set screws so the light will clear the caliper bracket (X3) or center the light on the quill. On the X3 milling machine, verify the set screws are against the quill and not the spindle! Lower the head to your lowest milling height. Next, plug the control switch into the cable coming from the housing. Run the cable along the column however you like and use the included mounts and zip ties to secure the cable to the mill (ensure you have enough length to move the head through its range of motion). Lastly, plug in the power supply and you are ready to go. Installation is done in less than 5 minutes.
